چکیده
The breakup pathway of Rayleigh fission a charged drop is unequivocally demonstrated by first its kind, continuous, high-speed imaging levitated in an AC quadrupole trap. experimental observations consistently exhibited asymmetric, sub-critical with upward (i.e. opposite to the direction gravity) ejection jet from drop. These experiments supported numerical calculations show that gravity induced downward shift equilibrium position trap cause significant, large amplitude shape oscillations superimposed over center-of-mass oscillations. result sufficient deformations act as triggers for onset instability well below limit (a subcritical instability).
